slow sunday morning ix (except it's evening)
I'm currently nursing a lukewarm first coffee of the day in the library, 6:01pm. I stayed up pretty late last night practicing piano since it's much easier to learn uglier passages when there's no one else in the building listening in on you.
I finally found a little time to set up my envelopes for my January issue of con moto, and I'm so happy to realize that I've gotten a decent few new people on my mail-out list for this one! Quantity is, of course, not the goal in the slightest, but it's a really great feeling expanding the network of artists that I share my work with. It's also fun seeing zines and art from many new corners of the world!
School is starting to creep up on me a little, as readings and writings and everything pile up more and more. Funny, I'm almost a month into this semester and still have not designed anything for my studio class. I'm hoping, as an architecture student, that at some point this semester I might actually create some architecture? Maybe that's just wishful thinking, though. For now I will continue to do the readings and do the research and let my designing hand weaken with it's extended hiatus of use.
I've got a few different zines on varying topics in the works right now that are keeping my writing on paper rather than on this blog, including but not limited to:
- a two week experiment I conducted that I'm now amalgamating my statistics for on excel, no spoilers for that one!
- a few collaborative zines with friends that I'm visiting in the next little while
- some analysis booklets I'm making for my studio on the neighbourhood we're designing in
In other words, busy busy. Exactly the kind of busy I thrive in though! Leaves less room for aimless ramble blog posts, but I can at least rely on Sunday.
