the breather stretches
Studio was finally presented and finished this last Tuesday, and suddenly, the world is brighter, warmer, and vibrant again.
I really adore these little slivers of time where everyone is still gathered in one place, but the stress of school has been shaken loose (although we all have a quite daunting 60% exam looming over our heads). I keep finding myself outside with friends instead of studying, but I think we all deserve the little break after slaving away for weeks on end!
Here's the recipe to an absolutely perfect day in this little sliver, one that I've executed many a time.
- Get a good friend. Your roommate preferably for maximum hang out time.
- Pack the following essentials with you:
- Laptop (where minimal work will be done)
- Speaker (where fitting tunes will be played)
- Sunglasses (where the early spring sun can't get you)
- Walk through campus together, marvel at the sheer amount of people outside. Who had a clue so many people were hibernating this winter?
- Stop for an iced coffee before you make your way onward. So much hard work done already, you deserve a treat.
- Carry on forward, preferably towards the most beautiful park in your vicinity. Sorry to brag, but we had river and forest views going on in ours.
- Find the sunniest picnic table possible, and get to "work". What this really translates to is listen to your wonderful music, chat a little, turn your face to the sun plenty, and count your blessings that you made it through another semester.
Soon, I'll return home, and another working summer will begin. I'll enjoy the limbos while I can. Halfway done school already.
